It gets absurd when the names Niedermayer and Pronger are anywhere near this discussion -

My point is fairly simple: if Buffalo had another veteran, they could've played 4 defenders 27 minutes of the game and left the other 6 to scrubs like Jillson and Janik, instead of having to play Janik 23 minutes or whatever he ended up playing. I am not saying they should be 10 deep, obviously.

The Sabres played remarkably to even force a Game 7 with those kinds of injuries - I was especially impressed with Toni Lydman, who has really come a long way this season playing on the top pairing, and was a great acquisition before the season by Darcy Regier. Still, my point is that injuries are a part of the game, and no one knows what would've happened if every team went into every series healthy.
