Everything you have described is thailand in a nutshell; the problem is if you want good net, the islands aren't so amazing. If you want good beaches, you can write off bangkok. I knew an Aussie guy living on Koh Pha Ngan playing 5/10 limit for a living and he had a house and broadband; this sounds pretty ideal for a while...
