In stud, when your opponent has a pair of aces showing on his board and you have nothing, it is a certainty. And yet so many players will call anyway with lower pairs, gutshots, three flushes, and all kinds of nonsense just hoping to get lucky. It's truly amazing (and profitable).

I was at the Trop in Atlantic City and played some 5/10 stud for the first time. This nice elderly lady called me down to the river despite me showing a pair of aces, and then when I checked the river with a pair of aces unimproved, she quickly tossed out a couple of chips. I called, of course, and it was a complete bluff! I've really never felt more insulted.
