No, I have not unearthed better math (The math part of the game can be mastered in one day).
Your question implies the only other possibilty is confusing opponents into making mistakes, that is only one of MANY attributes that make a strategy successful.
Creativity is a big factor (and gets rewarded big time) when the chips are deep (and you get to play every steet). At 30x BB the game is simple/boring, there is less opportunity and reward for being creative-----you don't have to be very intelligent (or creative) to be a successful tourney player when playing shallow chip depths and/or fast structures (you only need to do two or three basic things very well).
I am not going to give specific examples of "creative" plays I have made in the past.
BTW --- from the little I saw of your play at Mirage it appears you have a very good game.
