It is possible to live hard and look good doing it. However, you have to pull out the big guns. Basketball and surfing are not exercise- they are recreational activities.
Deadlifts, squats and sprinting. Eating lots of chicken, steak and fish. These are the things you need to do if you want to 'have your cake and eat it'.
One of the things I have found that I must accept if I want to drink hard and stay in shape is, unfortunately, a bit of a hangover. Eating heavy will pretty much negate the morning after effects for the experienced imbiber. Eating clean does not afford one this luxury.
It's worth it, though.
