I doubt this. Eko found his dead body earlier this season with his cross around his neck.

Eko found a dead body with his brother's cross around it's neck. The body was in a plane, which itself obscured a very important location on the island. It's possible that the plane was placed there after the monster gleaned information from Eko.

Anyway, I neither agree nor disagree with that theory; I'm just trying to support it's plausibility.
