Re: No Maroon love
[ QUOTE ]
The reason for my shot is in the world of poker/Internet, I, and Two Plus Two Publishing LLC, have been attacked more than anyone else by far. It's often done by people I either don't know or hardly know, and this is my results of trying to understand why.

Mason, you really shouldn't be surprised at these attacks. It's the tall poppy syndrome. Anybody who excels in any field is going to get this to some degree, simply by virtue of being the most visible, and therefore the one to beat.
A bit like the Cincinatti Kid vs. The Man, for example.
Of course, not all of these challengers will have the grace and style of Steve McQueen, but that's not going to stop them from taking a pop.
And while I've got no idea how wearing having to deal with attacks of that frequency must be, I suspect that responding in an equivalent manner isn't the best way of dealing with it -- primarily because it makes you look less like The Man, and more like a contest of equals.
If I were in your shoes, I like to think I'd respond to such attacks in much the same way as an amused parent does with a small child. As long as their ineffectual thrashing about isn't doing any real damage, I'd smile benignly, and try to offer them good advice on upping their game.
Though I recognize that every now and then, they'd catch me at an off-moment, and at that point I might just snatch them up and deliver a severe spanking...
