"Conterpoint"? Nice.

80% of the posts in this thread are the "conterpoint" to your argument, but I'll go again, no problem.

The point was not to "get carmella away from home so tony could start beatin AJs ass". How do I know? Well, first, he never beat AJ's ass.

The entire speach at the shrinks was discussing how AJ has it easy because Carmella always stopped him from giving tough love. That was one of the pieces of why carmella was sent away.

2: to show that carmella truly isnt happy with her life and she realizes there is so much beyond waht she knows

This is right, which is why I don't understand how you think this is important. This will likely be very important, as the writers have gone out of their way over the past two seasons to highlight her feelings of emptiness and inadequacy (the attempt at the spec house, her disappointment in it's failure, the obvious jealousy and inadequacy she feels in comparison to Pussy's wife and her business). Paris itself wasn't important, but the fact that she went somewhere where the writers could re-introduce some of the imagery/themes used in Tony's coma onto Carmela's character was.

Could have been summed up in a minute and other more important storylines could have been developed

This is what makes me think that you probably suck at watching TV and shouldn't be watching this show. Carmela/Tony is THE MOST IMPORTANT STORYLINE. This show has never really been about Tony's business or his mob family--it's always been about Tony, Carmela, Meadow, AJ, and to some extent, Chris.

I dont think that this is unimportant. Clearly his family life and him coping with the [censored] he has to is the main focus of the show, but i feel there were many parts where it dragged out more than it needed too. They played off other items like Vitos death and the killing of the NY guy too quickly which is more critical of an item for Tony to worry about, especially considering there could and probably will be a war starting between NJ and NY. In the end Carmellas feelings will not affect the family nearly as much as a mob war will. Her storyline will just play off as another nuissance in Tony's life and will probably be overshadowed by much more severe developing problems.

Next time you consider making such a dull uninteresting post just tie yourself a noose and try and jump through it head first

Sheer brilliance. Thanks for that. I'm still laughing.
