I moved here on September 13th of this last year / without a job and with a crummy old car. I has saved up about 12K and had 3K in my online poker accounts.

Stayed with the one person I knew in town for about a week. Then I moved in with some people from roommates.com. They both dealt poker, and I played, so I played quite a bit until the variance beat me and I started playing weak tight. I eventually slowed down the gambling and fancy dinners.

Got my job on Janurary 13th, with about 4-5K left, and 2K online. Had to move a month later and pay more. Still haven't gotten my security deposit back on the first place.

Used the left over money to buy a new car.
