Re: I\'m about to stop playing poker.
I say this with the utmost empathy, get used to it. That's the nature of low limit, live poker.
There are two problems with your thinking though. First, good starting hands have no right to win a pot. They are only statistically better over the longrun. More times than not (in low limit) someone will flop a better hand and you will have to throw away your hand. Having the discipline to do this will save you a lot of bets over time. In additon to this, the times you do flop a hand or your big pairs hold up these calling stations will pay you off handsomely and more than compensate for all those wasted preflop raises. You may run bad for a lot longer than twelve hours at a time. So fix your leaks. When the cards turn your way, and they will, you will have lost a lot less while waiting for your payday.
Second, a poker player is like a major league hitter. He must be prepared to fail more than he succeeds. Each pot is like an at-bat. You can't hit a home run everytime. You must pay attention and gain information from the pots you can't win. Like a good hitter, make adjustments. In the live game you are privy to alot more information than on the internet, so use it.
We've all experienced the same frustration as you. Anyone who says they haven't been through this at one time another is a liar. Be disciplined and hang in there you can be a winner.
Good Luck!
