Sorry if i wasnt clear when i said "first to act to last to act" i was referring to playing an aggressive opponent who fires out bets at ppl post flop. Checking in the dark therefore takes away your action so hes has less information to go by if you hit or missed the flop... And yes i agree i love playing against weak ppl who do it often for fun and to sound like they know what they are doing but i think its an effective strategy to work in every once in a while to mix things up...
To OP: You dont want to overuse it though unless your going for the image of a really weak passive player
