I would recommend Battista's Hole in the Wall. It is an Italian restaurant across the street from Bally's, (on the side street that is just North of Bally's. The place has great food, reasonable prices, and lots of character.

This is the place where Tony Spilatro (the basis for Joe Pesci's character in Casino) and his gang used to hang out. It is a true old Vegas landmark.
