I made a final table last year. Just before the they let us go on break before the final table, the tournament director said that we were not allowed to negotiate any new deals with the online sponsors for that final table appearance.
I didn't see any players come to a final table sponsored who weren't previously sponsored.

I would be interested to know if anyone challenged such statements by the TD. He has no authority to dictate such things on the fly. If it is stipulated pre-tourney that is one thing, but making such statements is pretty bogus.
