I don't like calling raises in the BB with AQo because it's so hard to know where you are, and you're basically gearing up to play a big pot with a "good" hand OOP.

So you're hoping to take down hand 3 preflop with your raise? Otherwise you are creating the big pot you say you don't want to play OOP.
