hmmm, i don't even follow this. i've never seen a foul shot in a playground game either.

if there is continuation - meaning simply that the basket counts even if the shooter called the foul, then it leads to obvious problems. the more serious the foul, the more it affects the shot, and therefore the more likely it is to be called. conversely, the less serious the foul, the more likely the shot is to go in, therefore the shooter is afraid to call these softer fouls as his shot, if it goes, won't count. not having continuation simply encourages people not to call fouls unless they are near flagrant. this makes for a better game all around. i feel like you are arguing about something else.
