Re: Stars catches a bot and it\'s........my mom

As such (and sorry to disappoint soap opera fans), I will not be making any more substantive posts in this thread until they complete their investigation. In fact, I had already been worrying that by "outing" this whole chain of events, I would have made it hard for anybody from Stars to actually admit that a mistake had been made. I did not want to make a huge production out of this -- I would have rather kept everything on the D/L,

Teddy, firstly thanks for this whole thread. Although it has soap-opera-like aspects (apparently including the obligatory "hot" woman, but excuse me if that ingrediant bypasses me), it means much more to all of us than that alone would justify. It has worrying implications on the security of our Stars accounts.
From the start of this issue, even before your OP, your mother stated that she was happy to stop playing poker (and she'll need the time now, for all the dates with zoo members). Being accused of running a bot is, I am sure, nothing she gives two hoots about either (it's not likely to sully her reputation in her social circle!).
This thread is not about getting "justice for your mum". Even your mum doesn't want her account back. She's simply curious, and wants her beloved son to learn a lesson.
This thread is about ensuring that we all get justice in future.
Stars have had their reputation tarnished, and have, by their own actions, destroyed a great deal of the confidence we had in them - and they know it (hence the escalation to director level, something unique in the annals of micro-limitdom. You and your mother should be proud). It's amazing how popular your thread is, a number which Stars is doubtlessly dreading.
There are ONLY two reasons this is now being treated seriously at Stars:
1) There is sufficient reason to believe that Jeff may be wrong.
2) The noise in the Zoo.
Reason #1 alone would NEVER have got this escalated. Not a snowball's chance in hell. And who knows how many times in the past people in the same situation have been shutdown without recourse.
So I disagree with your decision to "not be making any more substantive posts in this thread until they complete their investigation", and with "I had already been worrying that by "outing" this whole chain of events, I would have made it hard for anybody from Stars to actually admit that a mistake had been made." I think it is exactly the opposite of what you should be doing.
If you had handled this entire thing on the "D/L", and even if you had been entirely successful and got your mum's account reinstated (fat chance!), that would not have achieved anything useful. This isn't about your mum's account - it is about Stars willingness to be fair, accurate, accountable, etc. And about our needing to know that they are.
Seriously - ask your mum if she cares whether your continuing to post on 2+2 might reduce her chance of having her account reinstated? If I was a gambler, I'd bet she couldn't care less, and would possibly even encourage you to keep doing so. She's savvy enough to know that publicity is what has exposed this problem, that continued publicity will have the best chance of keeping Stars on their toes, and ensuring that they behave properly in future.
Please reconsider your stance on as much public disclosure as possible.
