Default Re: Stars catches a bot and it\'s........my mom

I just read this whole thread and I too feel there's something wrong with this picture.

Right from the beginning in fact. The OP's original note first paragraph: "According to her, she got an email the other day saying that her account had been suspended for security measures and that Stars support wanted her to send in some log files. After she complied, they told her that they believed she was using a bot, and that her account was being closed (although they let her cash out the little money that she had there.)"

Huh? Why would "some log files" from the client computer matter to Stars? If you suspected a bot would you ask the suspected bot user for confirmation? It seems likely that the Stars software can do their reporting perfectly well without the suspected perpetrator being involved. And as others have said, why let her cash out?

More odd things popped up as I read the thread. Too many alarm bells.

Perhaps they all have sensible explanations. Perhaps one of the existing theories is right but of course many more possibilities also remain. (E.g. teddyFBI has multiple personalities. Mom has a partner who uses the computer. teddyFBI has a competitive younger sibling living with Mom. Someone is out to cause trouble for teddyFBI and he's fallen right into the trap. And on and on...)

Regardless, teddyFBI: Why don't you post the *full* email trail to date from start to end? Your ongoing failure to do so seriously undermines any chance of your being credible in this thread. It strongly suggests hiding something.
