No. If he's raised with pair+oesd, hell call your allin while behind because hes getting odds. That being said, your basic point that if he calls, he either is about a coin flip or has you crushed is valid.

Often times yeah. Obviously you're not getting away from this hand ever, but the question will turn 9, 4, 6, 7 or 8 make opponent shut it down if you call on flop? Thats 18 cards you dont want to see. If you're opponent is a sort of "thinking but misapplying concepts" kind of guy, i definitely like a flop raise. He'll read you for draw, wanto to charge you and get it in.
