Default Re: Announcing New Software : PokerTableScan

The issue with "focus stealing" thing is this : when the PartyPoker lobby window does not have the focus, it doesn't refresh the player list. That's why PTS keep giving the Focus to the lobby window, and so you'll understand that giving the focus for a fraction of seconds will not do it. PartyPoker just has to have the focus.

Sorry, I didn't realize it only updated the lobby when it had the focus.

I don't how you guys are using PTS, but as far as i'm concerned, i am not doing an automatic scan permanently. What i do is : automatic scan of the tables at my level of play ( about 3-4 min ), choose my tables, play for 30 min, rescan the lobby, switch table if there is a more interesting table, play 30 min, etc... So this focus stealing is not much of an issue if you do that...

I multitable 6max for 2-3 hours sessions at a time, so I never actually have a "downtime" every 30 mins or so; I usually just decide a table has gone bad and then go off looking for another and try to find a better table while I an still playing the other 4/5 tables...

I think I have seen a way round this though: If I run a copy of Party and a copy of PTS in a virtual machine or on a another machine, then I can still leave PTS scanning the lobby continuously and then it can find the juicy tables while I play. So when I need a new table, I will just have to look at the names in the virtual machine (or via Radmin) and then open these on my play machine.

I will see how I get on with this idea and report back.
