I realize my book won't be as useful as the guides on how to play certain hands, for people who play mainly on the Internet. But for people who play in person, the information in my book is important.

Grigsa posted this awhile ago and no one has responded yet... I'll repost it here.

I'm still baffled by claims like this. Can you point out a specific line/section that has enabled you to "take it to the next level"? Surely you didn't need to learn that you're about 2:1 to make your straight/flush by the river if you flop an OESD or 4-flush. Or that lending money to fellow gamblers can be risky. Or that being rude to the fish is counterproductive.

Barry, while I enjoyed your book, like Grigsa, I am not sure what the "take it to the next level" material is. Anyone who states that they can't spot this material seems to be dismissed as someone who would have just wanted a starting hand chart or tips on how to play a certain hand. Personally, I find this somewhat insulting. It feels like there is a case of the Emperor's New Clothes going on here.

Can someone point out a few specific examples of such material that hasn't been covered before in other poker psychology books?

p.s. Depsite not seeing the "next level" material, I did very much enjoy the book as a commentary on gambling and its impact on family and society. I also like the pictures and would purchse a hard back version if one were available.
