Default Re: **American Idol Finals: Music of Queen

Bucky - missed his song, but he's probably safe.

Ace - painful, painful, painful ... reminiscent of Constantine's train wreck the week he lost last year. My pick to go home this week. And thank God for it.

Kellie - could have been much worse. Terrible, but she'll be just fine.

Chris - OK, but he made the cardinal Idol sin of singing a song people don't know. I think he's like watching a bad version of Live (who was bad enough anyway), or a wimpy karaoke Soundgarden, but he's obviously safe this weak.

Katherine - safe ... she's a great singer, and I think she's hotter than I probably should ... but slight possibility for bottom three, sadly.

Elliot - one of my favorite all-time songs, and I hated the chopping up (although I understand the time constraints). I think this guy is a great singer, but boring in every way. IMO a definite bottom three.

Taylor - being Taylor, and he'll be fine because of who votes and how. For me, it was like watching some idiot impersonate Elvis impersonating Queen.

Paris - ambitious, but as big as she can sing, this song is bigger than her. Very possible bottom three.

Paris, Elliot, Ace (slight chance for Kat, but I hope not).

Ace gone. Long overdue.

BTW, this is as tough as it gets, and as a result, this was the worst collective performance yet ... No one knocked it out of the park tonight. I'm a huge Queen fan like many on this board (beginning with a record club signup and News of the World 25+ years ago), and none of these guys will ever approach the same caliber of talent that Freddy Mercury had.
