They can also keep everyone's deposits (or a large percentage of them) in a money market account, all the sites do this and already make a lot of money off of interest in addition to rake. So they still have interest income but no rake income. I supposed holding the rake for a week just prevents you from withdrawing it earlier, and it also makes it seem like you are getting a free bonus every week (since they obviously won't be able to offer reload bonuses and such without taking any rake).
