The bars on this figure 'go down' to help demonstrate to the audience that an inhibition is occuring. Each bar represents the mean residual tone as a percentage change from the amplitude of concurrent spontaneous contractions (ie the figure shows that you could expect a tissue tone to be 50-75% lower than the amplitude of concurrent spont. contractions during EFS in the presence of Atropine and Apamin). I'm quite sure I need new titles/labels for this figure.
