gobbo has been wanting to break into the ranking for a while now, he cares about them. I personally couldn't care one bit what people on P5s thought of my game.

they are a bit of a popularity contest, obviously.

on the other hand, i imagine it's kinda cool when your parents/friends ask you why you waste all your time gambling, etc., to be able to send them a URL that lists you as the 71st best online tournament player IN THE UNIVERSE.
