20/40 KK
i've been running hot so i'm taking a 15bb shot at 20/40. no stats, this is one of my first hands at the table.
fwiw, this is higher than i normally play (5/10) but i'm not playing with scared money. Re: 20/40 KK
why not take a 30BB shot at 10/20? I think that would be waaay better than a 15BB shot at 20/40. The game is closer to what you normally play, isnt as hard as the 20, and you are way more likely to have stats on players and youve got a better chance at not going busto
maybe im being results oriented, but I prolly check/call the river. MP has played his hand exactly like a big A and I dont want to have to bet/fold against unkowns. |

Re: 20/40 KK
I think you have to call the river. It's 14 big bets, so and MP probably paired his ace, but you don't have any information on him, and I think it's reasonable to think you have a 7% chance of winning the hand. I like checking the river better. If someone has an ace, you're going to get raised, otherwise you might get them to bluff. Even with 11 bets, I'd still call the river, unless Button raises a bet from MP, in which case you probably should fold facing two bets on the river, not to mention a possible re-raise from MP.

Re: 20/40 KK
I agree with Alobar and Dan. Flop is a super easy C/R IMO, and I don't bet the river as I think you would have gotten more flop action from hands like JJ/QQ. MP is going to have a big A most of the time here.
Given your line though, I think the fold is fine. I play 10/20 mostly and almost never see river bluff raises, but maybe this is different at 20/40. I certainly don't expect to be ahead of both of them either way. |

Re: 20/40 KK
IMO the river is a clear fold. MP certainly cannot raise here without an A with the button calling the whole way behind. If MP realizes that you are on an overpair, he might think you are on a bet/fold here and bluff, but that bluff is unlikely since the button is clearly on overs. Does anyone believe in a river check call? It costs the same as bet/fold, but takes away the reraise bluff opportunity. A bet doesn't have value unless MP has 99 88 77 etc. and even those hands would probably raise the flop after capping and most likely do not call on the river if he thinks you have AK or an overpair.
