leading PP on flop, A (or K) falls on turn

I've been in these situations a lot, and they get me frustrated, mainly because I don't know the right thing to do and have to guess.

I play full table $1/2 Party.

Example 1

UTG+1 limps, MP limps, LP limps, I am in BB w/88.

4 players 4.5 SB

Flop is 7 2 3 rainbow. I bet, get 2 callers.

Turn is an A.

Example 2

I am UTG w/TT. I raise. get same 3 callers, blinds fold.

same flop, same turn.

----

There are of course some other variables to these situations:

- is there a flush draw on flop
- how many players called the flop
- what if the turn card is not an Ace but a KQJ

but genrally, this situation gives me a lot of headaches.

normally I lead example 1 turn anyway. Example 2 I tend to check fold, is that too weak?

In example 1, I still lead turn. If I get raised, I may call it depending on which player raised and thee stats on them.

Expample two I approach the hand in the same manner. I'm more inclinded to call down with TT though.

In general, you cannot always give up when an over card comes, it costs you money. You cannot always go to town with your middle pair because that costs you money. This is where the good players thrive and the weak players lose their money.

would it be so bad to go for a check raise in the first example?

In hand 1 I would bet the turn. Eveyone limped preflop and hasn't yet shown any strength. I don't like going for the check raise because the board is unlikely to have hit anyone, and there is a good chance it might get checked around. In hand 2 I would consider checking the turn considering you had three players cold call preflop.

Yes. There is nobody who we expect will bet (preflop raiser or very aggressive person generally). Having this hand checked through is fairly disasterous as just about every single card on the turn looks bad. We really need to eliminate somne players.
