3/6 Blind Defense KJ

CO 12/6/3 ASB 18% over 250 hands.

Me BB K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

CO Open raises. I call. Flop is:

4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4sb

I check raise. He calls.

Turn 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4bb

I lead. He raises I ?????

Also preflop should I be folding this to an 18% ASB? Even after only 250 hands?

It's just unfortunate ... I wouldn't fold this because there's a wheel draw out there and he could be making an FSP with perhaps the best hand in this blind steal situation.

I think you played it fine. He won't have an overpair that often.

After leading the turn and getting raised, I call. Then, I c/c the river UI. Even though the player has a really small ASB, he makes the same raise with AK-AJ, TT-88.

250 hands is a small number of hands to make any real decisions about someones ASB because I think this depends too much on the people defending in the blinds and that person's cards in those situations.

Turn - bet/call
River - check/call

If you are behind your saving yourself a bet. Since you're not sure if you're ahead I like check/call the river unless you've seen this guy raise on the turn for a free showdown. He's likely to bet out again on the river anyway. If he has TT you don't want to make him fold by making it 3bet on the turn, you want him to stay in and bet out his hand.

As others have said ASB requires a pretty decent sample. His other stats suggest he's one tight mofo. I'd just make a note that he may not change his SRs in steal situations.

I would have called him down from the turn raise.

Yeah, I play at 13/9 with ASB 27 which isn't THAT much different than his stats. I would still raise down to T9s and QTo there. His range isn't that strong - you still have a lot of holdings dominated.
