Pokerroom thinks I\'m from Sweden

Having cleared the recent Party bonus (after an extensive exchange of emails and proving I did clear the raked hands) I was going to deposit for the pokerroom reload (20% up to $200).

When I tried to deposit via neteller, it says transaction denied.

I contacted support apparently their system thinks I'm from Sweden (which can't have accounts there).

I'm sure the error is on their part but they refuse to listen. Now they want me to fax in (long-distance too) a government issued ID and my IP address...

Did this ever happen to you guys (I'm from Canada)?

Probably just perma close the account... fockers...

Yeah, their software thought I was in Africa when I first tried to set my account up for real money. (I'm in Kansas.) I had to send them my driver's license and a utility bill proving where I was.

You can black out any identifying numbers, they just want the name and address info.

Yes, however with Neteller deposits and withdrawals.
I'm a player from the Netherlands and have been playing online for 4 years. Last week Neteller decided that I must be Canadian. Have no idea where they got that idea, I didn't change anything, didn't move or whatever.
I know it's going to take me weeks to correct that. My account now shows all of my funds in Canadian Dollars in stead of Euros, this has cost me hundreds of dollars because of the difference in currency value.
It happens, and has happened to me before. That's why I always keep copies of whatever online pokerrooms or online banks could ask for on my computer; passport, utilitybills and so on...

Why does every person that needs to fax an id to a poker room need to make a thread? I dont think asking this is unreasonable.

Wow, when I was in Norway it thought I was in Ireland . I actually did not register due to it, since I thought it could be mess with cashouts etc.

Re: Pokerroom thinks I\'m from Sweden

Having me provide id and any other documentation is reasonable when I *first* sign up or withdraw. However I've had this account for a year, made numerous deposits and withdrawals in the meantime.

All of a sudden, I change ISPs and they think I'm from Sweden thats really annoying and they refuse to acknowledge its a problem on their side. Further I don't have a fax machine at home, I offered to scan it and email it to them. Somehow that is not reliable and authentic to them.

If I can fake a gov't idea, how is it harder to fake if I fax them or email a scan image (if I use photo shop I can just print it out and fax it to them)

Thats why I'm annoyed and see how others dealt with them.
