Hi,

I played this hand against player, who tried steal blinds every round with same scenario (call preflop, agressive postflop). Previus round he showed crap cards, then I tried resteal.
Its a good play or stupid?

Thank you.

I might reraise flop and if he raises you just call down, Looks like he diden't have a K

I'd rather checkraise the flop than the turn. But if he's super aggro w/ no hand then you could just call down and let him bet the hand for you.

I'm folding this pre-flop.

On the flop if you believe your read is solid on this guy (CO), & if he will always donk the flop regardless of what he is holding you should check-raise the flop to protect your middle pair in an effort to try to get BB out of the way. I wouldn't go waiting for the turn to c/r him with middle pair, just c/r the flop then lead turn.
(note: this only applies to this specific example & is dependant on your read of CO, against an unknown this may not be the way to play it)

If he's overaggressive, there's no need to get in a pissing match here--let him do your betting for you. Once BB folds on the flop, you could check/call on two streets, getting 4.5:2. If you think you're ahead, go ahead and bet out on the turn, but there's no need to come back over the top with only second pair, J kicker.

: newbie's grunch :

Looks like you played this with too much frustration.

If I was up against someone like that I'd be waiting for better opportunities to stick the knife in.

The pot was small when the flop came down, I might have laid it down pretty quickly. But it would depend how many hands of his I'd seen and exactly to what extent I thought he was trying to smack me around. But, for me, the pot wasn't worth risking getting in deep.

Your check raise on the turn also strikes me as a "my nothing is better than your nothing!" move. You appear to have played it as if it gave you lots of outs. But it didn't.

As always; I write this more for my own education than as advice to be followed.

I'll wonder aloud as to how this hand will effect your standing with the other players too.

I imagine most of them won't think "yeah, he raised the turn to try and shake off the psycho" they're more likely to think "he raises the turn with 2nd pair, hmmm."

My read at this player was good, but I missed River bet, I think.
CO had 93o. Of course, next SB hand I folded crap and he lost a lot to BB with 85o at 5,A,K flop.
