Semi-steal at FT w/ 33 gets shoved, what do I do?

On the button here w/ 19 1/2 BB's and the SB puts me in a tough spot, 3betting AI. I barely have him covered and he's played tight with a medium-short stack for a while now. Is this a coin toss or should I fold?

this is really bad, if you're going to open pre, make it 250, not 500. As played fold.

I made it 500 because the rest of the table was playing real loose, including the BB. I felt that if I bet less, I'd get called by any ace or connectors.

if the bb is loose then i'd just open fold 33. opening to 500 with any hand is awful, unless you're really deep and have a monster and expect to get paid by a ton of hands.

If the rest of the table is playing that loose, then you shouldn't be looking to steal, but instead to value bet.

Dump it now. Villain is unlikely to have 22, which is the only hand you're handily beating. Most likely case is you're racing overcards where you're a slight favorite. But the presence of potential overpairs would make this an awful call. Dump it and move on.

The people who open bigger with their weak hands have found their way to 2+2

Well, I'm pretty inexperienced in general and am making moves like this to learn more and refine my game before I plan to deposit a large sum of my own money. This is actually the only time I've ever raised PF with 3's, so I thought I'd ask for some input.

Raising this much almost commits you to an all in this is one of the reasons why its so bad. It makes the pot really juicy to a resteal, and the risk reward to get the blinds isn't that good.

hilarious.
im not sure i like the open button fold but if you arent going to call off the rest of your stack then 250 seems perfect.
with all that there is still a lot of play at this level and the blinds were almost useless to you. a min raise might even scare your opponents into folding.
