QTo blind steal
$5+1 rebuy 15K guaranteed on Party
The table has been playing very tight at the point in the tournament the hand took place, especially my opponents on the button, and the blinds. Blinds were $2000/$4000 with a $100 ante, 10 handed. About 220+ players remain, 180 pay, I am not worried about coming into the top 180 though, I want to build my stack. It is folded to me in CO and I raise it to $13,000 with: Tc Qh I have $61,737 in chips, and am about 10k below average. I have been a bit more agressive than most the other players at the table, I have stolen the blinds around 2 times each the last four rounds. One time the SB pushed all in when I raised in the Highjack and I folded. This happened around 3 rounds previous (By rounds I mean button going all the way around table). The button, who has $132,626 in chips, calls. Flop comes: Js Ah Ts Actions on me, pot is $33,000, I have $47,737 left in chips, whats my play? |

Re: QTo blind steal
Kind of a crappy spot here. I would probably check fold, but I don't think pushing is that bad. Would really depend on villian and what type of hands you think you can get him to fold.

Re: QTo blind steal
anybody else have anything constructive to say. My problem with the hand for post flop is that pretty much what ever I bet (if I bet less than all in), if he then pushes all in after words, I will be getting the correct odds to call the all in, if I am assuming he has an Ace with a kicker below Ten. So do I want to make a continuation bet knowing I will have to call his all in bet if he has an Ace, or the other options, of pushing all in to start, or check and fold if he bets.

First things first. There is an ignore function which I suggest you use and set it to ignore the poster who has his dick prepetually resting on the caps lock and thinks being obnoxious is helpful.
So, I fold PF with your stack size. You are at about 15 BBs + antes, Q10 is not a hand you want to be raising especially if you've been active stealing the last couple of orbits- and you definitely want to have a much stronger hand with a/the chipleader to your direct left. I would much prefer open pushing a hand like 88 here, then trying to play poker with such an awkward stack. The flop is horrible so I would probably just check fold and go into push fold mode and build my stack back up. If you had about 6 BBs left, you could open push Q10 but here I turbo muck it and look for something much stronger before raising off 1/5 of my stack with a mediocre holding. |
