On The Fly 4 bet...thoughts?

Preface: I staked UTG+1 to play in this game.

1/3 NL Live...I have $325 in MP. Table has been loose-passive as always in this game...I know all the players. UTG limps, UTg+1 ($100) limps, another limper, I limp with 77, 5 other limpers, the BB (random lady who just throws chips in) makes it $20 more (she has $25 left). UTG folds, UTG +1 min-raises to $40...I have logged thousands of live hands with UTG+1 and know that he loves to do this with AQ, AK. I push...thoughts??? Results later...

well not playin your stakee liek ud play anyone else is cheating.

i guess its common but i dont think it sok for u to play in the same game.

even if u dont collude u might do it even without thinking about it.

ISO'ing the person you are staking is really bad.

Why would you stake someone who pulls plays like this

And why would you stake him for 1/3 a buyin

Re: On The Fly 4 bet...thoughts?

If you're staking him with some sort of 50/50 on the winnings while you cover the losses deal you then getting it in as a coinflip with him is very -EV (not considering the dead money, half the time he doubles to $200, keeping $50 of your money, half the time you bust him, profiting nothing).

Even if you're not staking him this seems overly risky - the first raisor may have picked up a hand on occasion, and even UTG+1 will occasionally have an overpair. UTG+1 isn't folding AQ/AK getting over 3:1, so at best you've got a small edge from the dead money, and I don't think that's enough to compensate for the times you're way behind.
