LC- Beginner book on chess

My 11 year old step son wants to strt playing more chess. He knows how all the pieces move. However has no grasp of strategy at all.

Is there a small not to boring bok I could give him, that would get him thinking of some rudimentary strategy?

Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess. Covers really basic stuff, and it's easy to read. Whatever you do, don't by anything by Cardoza at all. Eric Schiller sucks.

Thank you.

I want to play more with him, but it is boring, when he just gives the game away.

I will pick this up for him. He is really bright, but just does not think sometimes.
