don't give results

pop it up to $11 or $12 preflop, , bet 2/3rds pot on flop and go from there

why the hell are you checking this flop?

I don't see anything wrong with checking this flop. It's rare that anyone will draw out with this flop, and I think checking and valuebetting the turn/river gets the most value out of other pocket pairs.

What if the turn card is A or Q and he bets? Do we fold? Isn't JJ too vulnerable to check?

I'm checking QQ here for sure, I bet TT and I think JJ is boarderline but I probably check. I fold if he fires a A/Q on the turn, ime villain's bluffing frequency on those turns isn't very high on this limit.

I'm not very good so these questions might sound a bit stupid but I am trying to understand the thinking needed to play good cash game poker.

Do you do this because you would only get a call from a better hand on the flop so you get no additional value? Or is it because you are not sure you are ahead and want to keep the pot smaller?

Isn't there value in protecting your hand in case you are still good? Or does the money you can win on later streets offset the risk you are taking?

This situation is kinda WA/WB (way ahead/way behind). If we're behind he's unlikely to have more than 3 outs (AQ has 6 outs, 5x/4x has 5 outs and there's some oesd:s possible but these combos are a tiny bit of his range). Thus we're not risking much by checking.

Mainly I'm checking because a checking might induce lighter calls from worse hands (PPs and other one pair hands) or even bluffs.

As said before, since he's unlikely to have many outs there's not much value in protecting your hand.
