AK OOP facing EP raise
 

PS $11 Nightly 20K.

Villain is 24/8/1.5 over 50 hands. Called my button raise once w/A7, then led a 97X flop, and called my value shove with QQ to double me up.

wow, don't think I'd shove. I'd re-raise to 3k though. You could also just cc and check to him if you hit the flop and your sure to get a c bet out of him. And if you hit like an A 7 4 board you will prob stack his AQ or AJ. I'd raise or call, I'm not sure which one has a higher EV though

I probably shove preflop. Any decent size re-raise commits about 1/3 of your stack preflop. Now that's fine if you plan to shove on any flop (Go-and-Go). But I'd prefer shoving preflop.

Yeah. It felt like a really big overbet, but I didn't want to make a smaller raise b/c I felt he would call almost any raise or shove on me. Basically, I wanted to be sure I got the last bet in and had FE against his range rather than the opposite.

yea put that way I can see how a shove is good here. A go and go could work with a raise to 3k.

But, do you think this is a good spot for a stop n go? If an ace falls you could prob stack off against AQ or AJ. I'm trying to find some spots during a tourny to work a stop and go into my game. Just wondering if this would be a good spot for that

Why? I'm not so familiar with the stop and go, but here, wouldnt it just commit us to pushing 9k into a 3k pot on any flop, where we only get called by better hands?

For the other guy who said something about a stop and go, and busting him if we hit an ace on the flop... how is that a stop and go?
