of course, Dell full retail price is hardly the price that any educated/shrewd consumer will end up paying.

full retail for the 2405 is about $1,100, and can easily be had for $800.

I still think you'll be able to get the 30 inch w/ coupons/discounts/etc for close to $1,500 at some point in the near future

This is perfectly normal for Dell. All their list prices are way too high, but you can get a good deal if you wait for promotions and coupons. For example, the 2001FP is currently listed in Home and Home Office for $678. This is more than $200 more than the alert buyer can pay. Unfortunately, it usually takes a while for them to start discounting a new product like this.

Well this is a first, Dell Canada has it listed for less: $1999

I know some people are predicting the Canadian Dollar to pass the American Dollar by the end of the year, but this seems a little odd.

not quite. 3 tables vertical would need 1800 pixels.

FWIW I bought the 2405 for 890 or so straight from Dell the first day it was offered. They didn't even have a retail price up yet on the internet when I bought it.

I just purchased a 2405fpw. I will probably pick up another. IMHO, 2x24" monitors would be better than this one for about the same price.
