If the player has been active I think you should have pushed preflop. As played, you picked up a good flop I would get the chips in despite his strong bet. He will fold a good portion of the time and if he does call you still have a great chance to win the pot.

Preflop is fine, although raising to ~20,000 is a nice play, especially against an active player. A9s 4-handed is pretty solid.

As played, on the flop, I'm pushing here. You have some fold equity and you have 9 outs to the nuts and possibly a couple outs for your Ace overcard.

I love a flop shove here. Great semi-bluff that prices out most of his hands. Put the big stack to use.

I read your stack size wrong, I would have made a reraise to about 20k not pushed.

I guess there are enough replies for now.

As it turns out, I pushed on the flop figuring I had good fold equity for his perceived range. I actually expeted him to fold, but he insta-called with AKo, and I spike a spade on the river.

The guy blows a gasket and goes off from the rail for 3 minutes before I blocked observer chat.
