Cruise Ships

Greetings,

Any tips on playing on Cruise ships.
I see there is a place on the ship I'm going on called the Seven Hearts Card Room.

Do people organize poker games in the Card room?

I'm going on a Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas Cruise ship on August 18th to the 25th.

I was going to try to organize a game in the Bridge 7 Hearts card game room... I'm not into playing stuff like Caribbean stud, 3 card poker etc ...

Some people pay the worlds highest rake, and consider squeaking out 1 BB/hour at 4/8 a living.

You have to run the ala Dirty Rotten Scoundrels scam on the side to beat the rake.

The 7 Hearts Card Room is for self dealt bridge, no poker there. However, I hear that the larger Royal Caribbean ships generally do have LHE poker. I played a 10/20 game on a different RC ship. Here's an earlier thread discussing poker on Royal Caribbean.

So it sounds it's bad players and the rake is 10% max $15 on the 5/10!!!!

How would you adjust your game to account for the rake?

If it goes to showdown every hand.. I guess they must be taking nearly 100 BB/100 hands...

Is this rake beatable?
How can people earn a living playing on cruise ships???

Do they organize private games?
