I don't think calling turn then donking into him on the river achieves much here. I prefer just plain re-raising the turn.

A different line, if he likes to float is to check-raise river. Obviously here though you are deep and cant be 100% about if you are ahead. So your donk bet acts/is a blocking bet. However most better players will exploit this, imo.

In a similar situation I was told to block/value bet for about half the pot. So if I check I'm sure I catch hell from tons of people telling me to do the other, so which is it?

Even if he is floating on you, this isn't the type of board you want him getting another card on. I'm allin on the turn. NL Holdem will provide different boards and different situations that give players opportunties to execute an array of different plays. Even though in a similar situation a block value bet onn the river was the best play, in this situation the best play (IMO) is to get in on the turn.

shoving turn seems spewish. We're almost 200bb deep. Only one real set to worry about and one draw. I'm thinking this is KQ a lot.

Bet turn harder and fold to a raise? People tend to get much tighter deep.

If you really want to see a showdown and control the pot, c/c turn and reeval river.

I guess nobody so far agrees with me, but I like your line.
- Checking the turn is extremely weak since you're still way ahead of his range.
- When you get raised very small, calling is correct for sure because of stack sizes. 3betting the turn essentially commits your stack and will not really get called by worse hands unless he completely sucks, which it seems like he doesn't.
- I like the blocking bet, mainly because the river is not a blank (3rd diamond). Good way to see a showdown. Also if he shoves over it you know you're beat and can fold.

If he had KQ or 88 that sucks, given the history you described. (I'm assuming this is somewhat similar to how he floated you in the past, otherwise the history is either irrelevant or should be dictating that you play the hand differently than this.)
