2 card rule in Omaha

Just a quick question regarding the rules of Omaha hi/lo. I have a friend who played at a cardroom in Iowa and said the house rules forced you to use 2 different cards for the high and low pots. Example, you have A2KK in the hole. If you use A2 for the low you have to use KK for the high. I'm curious if this is the norm or simply an abberation. If I were to play Omaha hi/lo in Atlantic City or Vegas would I run into the same rule?

This is not the rule, anywhere. On a board of 3-4-5-x-x, A-2 makes both the nut low and the wheel for high. To play it any other way is not Omaha. Let them call it something stupid, like "Iowa".

There is a reason Iowa is commonly known (at least in MN) as

No, you will not encounter it anywhere that actually knows how to spread O/8.

LOL @ Idiots Out Walking Around but the OP's post makes one wonder.
