Inflation

When is the last time a low limit level was removed from the poker rooms in AC? Was there ever a 1/2 limit game? Anyone have any thoughts on when 2/4 limit or 1/2 nl would be removed from poker rooms?

Re: Inflation

I don't remember 1/2 limit being spread in any form of poker in AC, and that's going back to legalization in 93'. You used to see $1-$3 Stud around that time and you don't see it anymore, but that's probably more a function of hold'em taking over than anything.

I wouldn't look for $2-$4 LH to disappear anytime soon. The old nits that populate AC year-round like it too much.

There were 1/2 limit holdem games at the Taj Majal and Bally's when I went there in 2004, I played them my first times playing in a casino.

There used to be a 1/2lhe game downtown in Vegas, but can't remember where.

2/4 will not go away. I was in a 3/6 game at the Fitzgerald and people came by, asked the stakes, and said they wanted to play 2/4. That's unlikely to change.

The point is that it will change..

There was a time when a .25/.50 game would have more "money" on the table than a current 3/6. Inflation keeps going, money keeps losing value.

One day the rake from 2/4 (and 3/6) will not be worth the space the tables take.

The question is when..

That's pretty much what I figured. It's got to go away sooner or later. I thought there might be people here old enough to remember a time before 2/4.

The El Cortez used to spread a 1/3 hold em game. Don't know if that is still the case...haven't been there in a few months.

I believe the Bike is spreading a 1/2 holdem and Omaha8 game, tho I think the o8 is now 2/4. Hawaian Gardens spreads a 20 Max NL game with 1/1 blinds.
