$6 2-table STT - Good spot for a move?

My thought here was that the situation was prefect to scoop up the pot provided the the villain was not holding any A.

12 people remaining with top 4 getting paid.

what about pocket pair? you had the weakest hand and you pushed, with two dominating cards on board, with no set...? i know i wouldn't, check the flop, if villain bets, fold.

I don't see the villain calling without some kind of a hand, maybe 7 with high kicker, or even maybe pocket pair, since he limped in from UTG...the only hand that you have beaten in this situation is pocket 2 it's unlikely he called your push with them...

I figured I could get him to fold anything that wasn't an A. Hoping he'd be afraid of me having one. I wasn't too concerned with him flopping two pair or a set.

The more I review this hand, the more I think an even stronger play would have been to push pre-flop.

push pf >>> going all in on the flop. I don't know about you, but I see people calling with junk here all the time. Plus, limping from UTG probably means a small pp, suited A-rag. If you're lucky it's like KJo or something. I don't know, I'm c/f that flop. Like you said, the time to make your move was pf, not once the flop came out.

I don't like this play because a lot of players will limp/complete with ace-rag hands and go all the way with them if they pair their ace. If you decide to play this hand you should definitely shove preflop or hope to flop 2 pair+.

As played, I like a check-fold.
