i have A8 preflop..

i raise in CO..villain calls in sb. he is a reg winner 24/18.

flop 853 rainbow... he bets out 16/32... i make it 42.. he makes it 133.. what do you do now?

I would also call flop, probably call turn.
When you raise, do you plan on getting it in?
If not i don't like your raise because i don't see him bet calling with too many hands. And by folding you just build a pot that you are going to give away with decent equity.
I would rather raise this flop with air and hands that you are comfortable getting it in with.

I guess this could be way off, please correct me if that's the case.

I'd call flop and evaluate turns. The flop call should slow him down, too.

Fold standard, but i know when i was at 2/4 sometimes i'd weaklead and watch people raise me and then 3-bet with air. this is mostly knowing ur player right here

Umm fold? He would lead sets and overpairs and make this same play with them right? Or two pair? I can't think of a hand you are ahead of minus 57/79 but why would he repop them?

You really shouldn't be reraising this flop if you don't have a plan on what to do if he 3bets.
