I'm not in this hand, but I found it humorous; and a good reminder lesson.

2 players left in the hand on the river. hispanic and older white haired lady. the dealer stacks the pot into two even piles. he bets, she raises, he calls. she turns over A2o (playing the board - she has eights full of deuces). he releases his cards face down toward the muck.

the dealer says "you're mucking your hand?" and takes it and pushes the pot to her. hispanic's friend tells him he's made a mistake. floor is called. floor upholds dealer.

I saw a similar thing today, 34567 on the board, 4 players left, i turns over 67, one Q3, dont remember the other one, then the SB mucks and its chopped 3 way. LOL

Dealer shouldn't be saying anything in this case. Just push the pot. Also, one player to a hand, so no other players should be saying anything. Same as when 4 or 5 of one suit hit the board and a dealer cannot/shouldn't say "who's got the highest <insert suit here>?"

Floor ruling was fine. Standard ruling is in order to claim any portion of the pot, even if you're playing the board, you must show both hole cards.

I dealt a hand that had 7777A on the board. River action 5 ways. Bet, raise, 3 bet, fold, fold. both call. First guy says thanks for the raising cuz it's a 3 way chop instead of 5 ways. (rake was already capped and it was a 4/8 game). I couldn't help but laugh and the other players that folded were completely in shock that they weren't paying attention and folded when the nuts were on the board. Hawaiian Gardens $8-16 LHE. 5 to the flop. Checked around on flop, turn, and river. Final board is 10JQKAr. First player turns over his hand as does 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. 5th player looks at his hand, looks at the board, looks at his hand again, mumbles, and mucks.

I've always wondered - is the dealer supposed to stack the pot in situations like this before the action is complete? It's not a split pot game and it seems like he shouldn't since he is giving information (prob a split pot) to a player that may (however unlikely) be unaware.

NO! The dealer is *NOT* supposed to prestack the pot.
