bad shove?? AT utg

26 person tourny. blinds 200-400 , 50 ante , 7 handed. 1 min blinds go to 300-600 100 ante

hero has T5200 POT - t950

hero is utg with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

hero goes all in...

my M at this point is just over 5 , i dont know if i should limp here, fold, or raise. i think a raise of 3-4x will cripple me anway, and i dont think open limping is wise either. I dont know if this is really bad, marginal, or something else. any help would be appreciated

k i no most will say push here and i can see that online ppl dont notice your plays so thats fine but im tryin to make my play unreadable for when i start playing large live tournies. if you get AA in this situation would you push with your M of 6.7? hell no! thats why if you see a player on this forum push you shud feel safer than if they make a standard raise if they have an M of 5 - 7. not berating but comments welcome on this.

btw your M is not just over 5 its 6.7 which will soon be 3.25 if the blinds rise next hand.

i make standard 3bb raise

each round is 950 ... 5200/950 = 5.47 Also the table is not full so my effective M is lower.

200 + 400 + (50*7) = 950 = my bad = push

For me, this is a little closer than "easy shove". If you can get into the BB for 400, it makes it close to me.

As far as the choices here, it is fold or all-in and nothing in between.

I believe shoving is the only legitimate play here.

Though it would be nice to know how many players remain, (payouts, etc.), I highly doubt it would change my decision.

There is a major difference between playing optimally and playing unexploitably. Just because some good players will discount AA/KK from your range if you open shove does not mean that open shoving is not the most +ev play that you can make.

There are a lot of players who would play AJ/22-TT if you open for 3bbs but who would fold if you open shove.

This hand is an easy shove
