PS 3/6 J9o on the BB

Its eight handed at the moment.

The initial UTG raiser is 25/15 over just a few hands and he doesnt strike me as particularly aggressive postflop. Villian is 40/15 also over an insignificant sample.

The hand before this the villian cold called my EP raise in the Hijack with AQ, called the flop and turn on a KQX board and checked it down on the river to beat my 99.

The two later position cold callers looked TPish and LPish respectively.

What do you all think of the PF and Flop calls? Too light? Just right?

UTG raises, Villian cold calls, two more LP cold calls and I complete with J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the BB getting nine to one.

So we have five to the flop for something like 10 SBs.

Flop 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I check, UTG checks, Villian bets, the LP late position guy calls, I call and UTG folds.

Looks good so far getting ~13:1.

Looks fine to me.

You aren't really completing from the BB though, just calling.

I might check raise the flop, depeding on the players. That works when you have a tight image and you fold out the weak aces.

At these odds you gotta call and see the turn though the J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] would be trouble. I disagree with C/R because all but one player are already in for one small bet so they'll probably call a raise and I don't think you're getting the odds for pot building. Plus, what if villian reraises? You did fine up to now. See the turn and if you hit then call down cheaply or value bet on the end if everyone gets timid.

With only two other people in, I'm not that worried about a diamond draw.

I thought the preflop decision was iffy. Even though nine to one is pretty good I wondered whether this was enough for an unsuited one gapper with no real high card value against an UTG raise in a family pot.

I thought the flop action was close too because of the combo of not closing the action (with the UTG raiser yet to act too) and the flush draw. Either one of these factors alone I call but with both against me I thought maybe it pushes a pretty easy but marginal call to a fold.

edited to correct streets

I remember on one of the WSOP things Doyle Brunson was saying that he's old and back in the day they called the flop the turn.

Are you Doyle Brunson?

Standard. If the A is not an A and some other overcard, I consider donking into the PFR.
