Playing bad against weak players

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone was experimenting the same problem as I do...

I usually play 5$-10$ No limit hold'em on the internet and when it comes to a live poker with friends and a 10$ buy-in, it seems like I start playing very bad... this is due to many factors... 1st, I can't put my friends on a hand as they don't really have "standard" starting hand requirements .. (ex: they will feel K 9 is worth calling a preflop bet). 2nd, I can't bluff them as they will probably call... 3rd, we play like 30 hands / hour and I'm used to playing at least 100 hands / hour on the net so I feel like I must make a move even if I don't get the cards... In other words, I can't put myself in my opponent's mind because he doesn't know himself what he is doing :S Finally, I don't really give **** about the 10$ so I am not very motivated to play well...

Anyways, I know a good poker players against both category of players, but it seems like there is something I don't get. By the way, my average for the last 2 months on high stakes is 100$+/hour.

I'm pissed off... been loosing like 3 games against total newbies who believe poker is a game of luck and are happy to go all in preflop with K 10

PS: sorry for my mediocre english

microstakes live poker versus donks is so goddamn boring if you are trying to play well. just start playing like 50/40, throwing in lots of minraises, etc. it's way more fun

just go all in preflop, and on the flop any time you have top pair, or a big draw, or any other time you're pretty sure you have the best hand.

Man, I go through the same thing with my buddies. We play on Friday nights with a $5 buy-in. I can't get them to go any higher because I win about 70% of the time, and finish second quite often when I don't win. Yet they don't do anything to get better at the game, and are convinced Q-9 suited is a great hand that should be raised with.

I've found it most profitable for me to play a super-tight game until the blinds reach at least 400-800. And always be skeptical of the slowplay. It seems to be their favorite move - check-call on the flop, check-call on the turn, all-in on the river.

I can't even imagine playing well in a $10 buy-in home game after playing decent stakes. When I'd try to go from 5/10 on the internet to 1/2 live, I'd do things like go all-in PF with K8 and end up donking off chips like crazy.
