Comm 40: KK vs Gabe and a donk

Great game last night. The only tough spot is 2+2'er Gabe, a solid and aggressive pro.

Gabe and I have really only tangled once tonight. He raised in LP and I 3-bet out of the BB with black QQ. He called my bet on a J-high board and raised the turn (I think there was a heart draw on the turn; Gabe, correct me if I'm wrong). I called the raise and a river bet and he conceded the hand (like an idiot, I showed my hand).

Anyway, Gabe raises in early position and I 3-bet in the HJ/CO with KK. A passive bad player calls in the BB, Gabe caps. I don't recall having seen him cap before. I call.

Flop: QJ6r

Check, Gabe bets, I call, BB calls.

Turn: blank

Check, Gabe bets, I call, BB calls.

River: Q

Check, Gabe bets, I call.

Thoughts on all streets appreciated.

I like it. Either you are beat, or letting Gabe bluff a brick. Eithe way, it lets you win the most, lose the least. Classic WAWB.

I like it. Prevents you from getting into much trouble with JJ/QQ/AA while getting him to bluff more chips away if he's on a bluff or AK and still gets a fair amout of value out of AQ/KQ (at least on flop or turn, when your ahead).

I like it. You kept the BB in by simply calling along and you let gabe possibly bluff off his money if he is behind. Standard, but not played this way much anymore.

you have to fold the river. he either has AA, QQQQ, or the other KK.

"letting Gabe bluff a brick"

i know gabe well and he's never bluffing here. there's either a slim chance of a chop or youre destroyed, so hero needs to fold the river, possibly the turn.

Wanted to argue wth this, but it's right. If there's just no way he has AK (and most live pros won't) here then you can't call and it's not close, particularly if you add JJ into his range.

I guess Gabe could be smart enough to bluff w/KK here, no? I guess that makes it closer but I still doubt enough so to call given you'd be chopping.
