Going to a bar alone?
 

hmm, so it's 10pm on a friday night. I've just moved to a new small town for a new job, and I know NOBODOY. No friends, nothing.

I'm 19, a pretty fun guy, and I don't like the idea of being home on a friday night. I want to meet people, make friends, bang girls, etc. But I've never been to a bar (or club) alone. Alot of people say it's weird, but alot of guys say it's the only way to go to meet new people. So I'm thinking of going tonight...but I thought I'd ask OOT about their experiences.

So...who's gone to a bar alone? Any advice? Tips? Things to say when someone inevitably asks me "so are you here alone?" Or you know, just say whatever's on your mind :P

yeah, just don't be shy. approach people. it's only weird to be by yourself if you are acting like its making you uncomfortable. being new in town is a perfectly good reason to go downtown and meet people. you'll be fine.

It's good. I used to do it all the time. As long as you present yourself confidently to women, something along the lines of "I'm here by myself. I like to have fun and meet new people, I don't need any wingmen to meet and talk to interesting women" or "I'm here by myself. I figure that maybe I will run into someone I know, and if not I can make some new friends" all will be well.

If you can circulate some after meeting a couple groups of women and having them learn that you are there by yourself so that they see you are meeting and making friends (unless they are slutty it's good to have them see you interacting with mixed groups, couples, and guys too so they don't peg you as a ONS hound) it will up your value in their eyes.

If you hit the bar to pound beers your much less likely to hook up and will leave a much different impression with the women.

Since you actually are new in town this isn't that weird. Meeting some chicks in the area can't be a bad thing at all. Don't see any harm in doing this.

Depends where this town is. Small town bars = Roadhouse before Dalton shows up.
