What\'s your ball of choice?
 

I like to use a ProV1 (392) for the par 3 holes, but prefer Callaway War Birds for the longer holes.

Just curious what kind of balls you guys use, or is there one I should try?

I think you should be able to find a ball that performs well on par 3, 4 and 5 holes. My guess is it is in your head, or is it because you need the extra distance from the warbird (which i think is a distance ball), on the par 5s.

I use the old titleist professional 90s, and the pro v1, and most any other soft feel ball. I love spin, but finally retired the titleist tour balata after cutting the cover on three in one round

Save the balatas either for your own hickory play or to auction for guys who do play hickory. Small group, but I think it is growing a little. Guys with either old or repro clubs want the balatas. I heard about one guy making gutties, but those were very expensive and I don't know if they will keep them going. If you have new old stock balatas I would hold them.

I like all of the top line balls. ProV1x is my choice though.

Yes, I would play the ProV's everywhere, but if the hole has water, or it might get away from me I am cheap and go down to the Callaways or even a Nike ball.

This is good feedback so far, I have a ton of those old Balata balls, glad to know someone will want them someday!
